Commemorating a lost loved one is one of the oldest and most important traditions known to humans. How we treat our dead marks the difference between our cultures, but is also one of the things that binds us as a race. We’ve all lost loved ones, some when it was their time and some taken from us too soon. There is always a feeling of loss and grief and everyone experiences that differently. One of the things we can do to begin the healing process is to craft a suitable farewell for them.
To me, a funeral should be about celebrating the life that was lived, remembering all the things about that person that made them special to us. I believe there’s great healing power in sharing your memories, stories and grief with others in a safe space. My aim is to craft that safe space for you and your loved ones. To allow you time to remember and honour your loved one. I will work with you to craft a ceremony befitting of them, respecting them and celebrating their accomplishments.
Not everyone we say goodbye to, do we have the easiest of relationships with. I understand very well that there can be some mixed emotions about saying farewell at times. Humans are a complicated species with a complex set of emotions and history. There are also times we have to say goodbye far too soon; when we lose someone tragically, suddenly or to an unforgiving disease. These times, when there was still so much potential left for our loved ones that makes it even harder to let go. Regardless of your situation, I have experience with all, and will commit to assisting you with crafting a ceremony fitting of your loved one.
There can be a lot to navigate and organise when it comes to a funeral and often a lot of decisions to make. Rest assured I will work with your Funeral Director to coordinate and communicate wherever possible to help reduce any admin double-ups for you. From music choices to flower displays and tributes to the eulogy, each ceremony is individual. It would be my honour, to help craft a ceremony that you can look back on and feel like you did your loved one’s memory justice, through sharing their life, love and legacy.
