Funeral & Memorial Services

Commemorating a lost loved one is one of the oldest and most important traditions. We’ve all lost loved ones, some when it was their time, and some taken from us too soon. One of the things we can do to begin the healing process is to craft a suitable farewell for them.

To me, a funeral should be about celebrating the life that was lived, remembering all the things about that person that made them special to us. I believe there’s great healing power in sharing your memories, stories and grief with others in a safe space. I will work with you to craft a ceremony befitting of your loved one, respecting them and celebrating their accomplishments.

Not everyone we say goodbye to, we have the easiest of relationships with. I understand very well that there can be some mixed emotions about saying farewell at times. There are also times we have to say goodbye far too soon. These times, when there was still so much potential left for our loved ones make it even harder to let go. Regardless of your situation, I have experience with all, and will commit to assisting you with crafting a unique ceremony.

There can be a lot to organise, and decisions to make, when it comes to a funeral. Rest assured I'll work with your Funeral Director wherever possible to help reduce any admin double-ups for you. It would be my honour, to help craft a ceremony that you can look back on and feel like you did your loved one’s memory justice, through sharing their life, love and legacy.

Pet Memorial Services

My wife and I consider our pets to be our kids, albeit furrier. We play with them, walk them, take them travelling & ensure their health is taken care of. We feed them, spoil them, groom & bathe them. Sometimes we let them sleep on the bed but they always have a very special place in our hearts.

When it came time for us to farewell one of our beloved pets, there was a range of products we could buy through our vet, such as a headstone, a hair clipping, her paw print and many more. However, there was no option for a ceremony at all, no sense of occasion to mark our loss. Therefore, I decided to write & deliver our own memorial. The ceremony gave us a proper sense of closure, of occasion and acknowledgement of our pain. It commemorated a time of loss, reflection and love, that we hold dear.

The memorial helped us to remember, and share, some good times as well as some naughty and funny stories. It allowed us to reflect on the life that was, and all that we had to be grateful for. Often society can too easily dismiss the pain and grief of losing a pet, this is known as disenfranchised grief. I’m calling for this to stop, for us to be able to acknowledge our pain and process our grief.

If you’re like me, and cannot imagine saying goodbye without some kind of ceremony, please get in touch and we can have a chat about what might suit you. I highly encourage story sharing as a ritual and photos for remembrance. Pets are part of our family and it’s incredibly hard to say goodbye to them. If your pet is considered a family member through their life, they can now be treated as such in their passing.
